Fair Teachers brand development and new website

Fair Teachers is an independent teacher supply organisation led by Maria Hulbert — a highly experienced educator with deep roots in schools across the North East and Cumbria. The business had grown through reputation and relationships, but the brand and online presence hadn’t kept pace.

The brief: build a brand with real depth, create a website rooted in the region, and hand Maria the tools to run it as a genuine business asset.

CHALLENGE 01
Strengthen the brand — secondary graphics, secondary colour palette, iconography and guidelines to ensure consistent brand style.

The existing site was geographically anonymous. The new site needed to feel unmistakably rooted in Northumberland, Cumbria and County Durham.

The management team needed to own and operate the site as a genuine business tool — ease of use and proper training were non-negotiable.

Communicate Fair Teachers’ understanding of schools, teachers and families — and put Maria’s experience and qualifications front and centre.

Listening first, designing second

Before we touched a single design tool, we spent time getting to know the Fair Teachers story — what Maria had built, who she served and what set the organisation apart. That understanding shaped every decision that followed.

Brand with real depth.  Working from the existing logo and colours, we developed a full visual system — secondary graphics, iconography and a photography style that feels warm, professional and locally grounded.

A website rooted in place.  The new fairteachers.co.uk is unmistakably North of England — regional photography, clear audience pathways for schools, teachers and families, and copy written to speak directly to each.

Maria front and centre.  Professional photography, a compelling personal story and clear communication of her qualifications mean visitors immediately understand there is a real, experienced person behind this service.

A publishing platform.  A news and blog section built to make Maria’s expertise visible — sharing opinions, case studies and sector commentary that feeds directly to school groups and social channels.

Ownership, not dependency.  Built in WordPress with ease of use as a core design constraint. Followed by bespoke training and easy-to-follow video tutorials so the management team can update the site confidently and independently.
